Bodrum Safir villas and surroundings
Small shops for daily needs are available in the village of Kadikalesi, which is about 500 meters away from our villas. Here you can also find small home cooking restaurants, fish restaurants and cafes. The use of sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach is usually free of charge, but the owners expect you to spend a set daily minimum amount for food and drinks. A beach promenade ranging from Kadikalesi to Turgutreis has been opened in spring 2016 and is ideal for a walk. The village has a minibus stop and taxi stand, but for more convenience, we recommend to rent a car because of the hillside location of our houses.
Turgutreis is the largest village of the peninsula after Bodrum center and about 3 km southeast from Kadikalesi. With long sandy beaches, a unique bar street, a weekly market held each Saturday and comprising of two sections with one being for fruits and vegetables and the other one for textiles, large superstores and a marina, this village is a tourism center on its own. The marina includes boutiques of famous brands, cafes and restaurants. In summer, the Artist Street and the Handicraft Corner within the marina are places worth visiting. Besides shopping, there are plenty of other things to do in Turgutreis. Among them are: daily boat trips, ferry to the Greek islands, festivals and events, horse riding, diving, hiking & walking and sightseeing.
Gumusluk is located about 2 km northwest of Kadikalesi. In recent years, Gumusluk has become a brand in Bodrum with its quaint venues, unequaled coast and the numerous fish restaurants right on the waterfront. In the summer, the restaurants are very crowded, especially on weekends. It is strongly recommended to make a reservation. The small island “Rabbit Island” can be reached by walking on the ancient ruins of Myndos. In the summer, classical music festivals are held in Gumusluk.
Being one of the most beautiful places in Turkey, the Bodrum peninsula offers a unique blend of nature, history, architecture, entertainment, and hospitality of the Turkish people.
A wide range of activities including cultural events such as festivals, concerts, exhibitions of internationally well-known artists as well as international conferences, sailing races, dancing classes, and many other events will make your stay pleasant and colorful. Furthermore, you will never forget the exciting culinary experiences you make in Bodrum: delicious breakfasts with an incredible variety of food, tasteful Aegean cuisine and the best fish dishes you can get in Turkey. You can enjoy serene tranquility, and if you would like to party, it’s literally just a few minutes away. For example Halikarnas, one of the world-famous clubs is located in Bodrum city center. The club has hosted some of the biggest names in showbiz including Sir Mick Jagger, Sting, Sir Michael Caine, Yves Saint Laurent, Valentino, Princess Margaret, Claudia Schiffer, Pamela Anderson, Kid Rock, Bette Midler and Dustin Hoffman.
